چکیده
Slippery Liquid Infused Porous Surfaces (SLIPS) are a relatively new and promising development in the surface engineering world. Bio-inspired with superior omniphobicity robustness, SLIPS have enjoyed success several scientific applications, spanning multiple industries from marine environment to medical field. Inorganic fouling is one such challenge managed overcome by disrupting both deposition adhesion mechanics of scale. To date, primary focus has been on adapting stainless steels while more prevalent pipeline materials, as carbon steel, overlooked. Here unique simple system fabricated X65 potential for creation situ. Utilizing topographical features an FeCO3 layer derived CO2 corrosion, two SLIPS, perfluorinated Krytox oil another 1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide tested. The validated prevailing models design literature shed further insight into how this determined experimentally. This combination spares use functionalization between substrate/lubricant interface displays enhanced anti-fouling capabilities calcium carbonate (CaCO3) scaling brine.

Direct observation of drops on slippery lubricant-infused surfaces.
For a liquid droplet to slide down a solid planar surface, the surface usually has to be tilted above a critical angle of approximately 10°. By contrast, droplets of nearly any liquid "slip" on lubricant-infused textured surfaces - so termed slippery surfaces - when tilted by only a few degrees. The mechanism of how the lubricant alters the static and dynamic properties of the drop remains elus...
متن کاملElectrochemical Investigation of the Corrosion of Different Microstructural Phases of X65 Pipeline Steel under Saturated Carbon Dioxide Conditions
The aim of this research was to investigate the influence of metallurgy on the corrosion behaviour of separate weld zone (WZ) and parent plate (PP) regions of X65 pipeline steel in a solution of deionised water saturated with CO2, at two different temperatures (55 °C and 80 °C) and at initial pH~4.0. In addition, a non-electrochemical immersion experiment was also performed at 80 °C in CO2, on ...
متن کاملCylindrical chains of water drops condensing on microstructured lubricant-infused surfaces.
We studied the condensation of water drops on a micro-structured lubricant-infused surfaces. Hierarchical micro-prism surfaces were fabricated by soft imprinting with wet TiO2 nanoparticle paste. After hydrophobization, the patterned surfaces were infused with silicone oil as a lubricant. When cooling at high humidity (over 80%), water drops nucleate and start growing on the surface. Once they ...
متن کاملPreventing mussel adhesion using lubricant-infused materials.
Mussels are opportunistic macrofouling organisms that can attach to most immersed solid surfaces, leading to serious economic and ecological consequences for the maritime and aquaculture industries. We demonstrate that lubricant-infused coatings exhibit very low preferential mussel attachment and ultralow adhesive strengths under both controlled laboratory conditions and in marine field studies...
